Secrets to Keeping Your Relationship Strong

by Michel Germain on Apr 30 2020
Relationships are funny things. They ebb and flow like the tides of the ocean. Sometimes you're on a great high, sometimes you're on the low side. That is natural. So what is one way you can help keep the relationship on a high for the most part? In one sexual perfume survey, we asked 20 long-time partners what kept them interested in each other. Their answer was so simple it even surprised us! They found their partners very interesting to be with. One way to be interesting is to plan dates that are fun, adventurous, entertaining... No matter how old or young your relationship. Give yourself ten minutes to brainstorm some of the best places to go and activities to do. They don't have to be complicated, pricey ideas, just interesting. We have brainstormed some ideas to get you started: Find out if there are any old-fashioned drive-in theaters in your area and take your partner there. Plan a tour of your city, highlighting little known places and stopping for lunch at a sandwich shop that serves gourmet sandwiches. Bring her/him tobogganing in the winter; snorkeling in the summer. Go on a wine tour, travelling the nearest wine country in your area. How romantic. Plan a picnic. Anywhere from in your backyard to the local national park. What are your ideas to spend some interesting time with your special someone?

How to Make Your Scent Last Longer

by Michel Germain on Apr 15 2019
You have found your signature fragrance and now you can't live without it.  Only trouble is, sometimes it doesn't last as long as you would like.  Is it you or is it the fragrance?  Does the time of the year have any influence on perfume's staying power?  Is there a way to make it last longer?  The answer to all of these questions is "yes".   A great, high end fragrance made with real essential oils should last an average of four hours, but that can change depending on your skin type and the notes in the fragrance.  If for instance you have naturally dry skin, your perfume will not last as long.  In fact, it could dissipate in as little as two hours.  Likewise if you prefer light scents with citrus, and certain florals, they won't last as long as rich scents steeped in musk, amber, or vanilla.  Both styles of fragrance are fantastic, but they have differing lifespans on the skin.  As surprising as it sounds, even the time of the year has a bearing on its staying power.  If it is hot or humid (as it often is in summer), your fragrance will keep emanating.  If it is cold and dry, it doesn't radiate as far or as much. So, how do you make it last longer?  Moisturize. Layer your fragrance with a body lotion or cream with the same scent as your perfume.  Don't just grab your everyday drugstore moisturizer.  As good as it may be, all moisturizers, even those marked "unscented" have their own inherent, naturally occurring scent.   None are completely odorless.   These scents will change your fragrance.  If you can't part with your moisturizer, try it under your fragrance, but let it dry first.  Letting it dry will allow your fragrance a better chance at doing its job.  If it smells great to you, your moisturizer has passed the test.  Another tip:  make sure you have bought the highest concentration of fragrance.  An eau de parfum has a higher concentration than an eau de toilette.  The eau de parfum lasts longer on someone with dry skin. Lastly, see if your fragrance comes in a travel or purse sized spray.  They are great for touch ups throughout the day.

How to Apply the Right Amount of Perfume

by Michel Germain on Nov 27 2018
Perfume is one of the greatest indulgences you can give yourself and others around you. But how much is too little perfume, how much is too much fragrance? We went to Michel Germain to ask him how to apply the right amount of perfume, everyday. Here are his tips: Stick to 3 – 4 spritzes at a time. Any less, no one will smell your beautiful scent. Any more, and you may be on overload unless it’s an outdoor party or event. Once sprayed and after the first couple of hours, you, yourself should be able to smell the scent only occasionally. Your nose will get used to the scent and that is to be expected.  Know that your fragrance is still emanating a soft scent that others around you are noticing and enjoying. Carry a purse or travel spray for touch ups. After 4 hours most natural flower oils tend to fade. Re-spritz your fragrance with 2 sprays to refresh your fragrance.  Again, stick to a couple of spritzes.  You still want a soft, even scent.  Plus, remember, the fragrance you put on in the morning is still there, just a little less noticeable.   How do you know you have the perfect amount of fragrance on?  You should be able to smell your perfume in soft, even, occasional whiffs.
